From what age is it safe to clean a child's ears with Qtips? Any other way to clean besides Qtips?

Just use a damp (not dripping wet - so water doesn't enter the ear) washcloth to clean the outer ear folds in the bath, and do the same with the dry towel when the child gets out of the bath.
Qtips can damage if they reach the ear canal.

You can use a Qtip to clean out the wax that you can easily see, but don't go digging any deeper than that. You could actually end up pushing wax deeper into the ear canal.

I do it from when they’re infant. I do it very carefully after their bath. I used to use special qtips for infants- it had a safety tip so it couldn't go deep.

Qtips are never considered to be safe.

As an audiologist, I must tell you NOT TO STICK QTIPS INTO YOUR CHILD'S EAR. Wax is good to have, so leave it in there. You can also damage the ear drum. Just clean behind his ears. Any wax that needs to get out will leave by itself. If you notice an abnormal amount of wax, talk to your pediatrician.

Johnson and Johnson makes a baby q-tip, designed not to be able to get in past the surface. Best thing!
