Michelle Garcia Winner has a whole set of materials to teach social skills called social thinking. One of the curriculums is called SuperFlex it teaches social skills to elementary aged kids using a superhero theme. My 8 year old son loved it. It really got him to understand situations that he could not intuit on his own.

Maybe but this is only an imamother poll not a proper scientific study lol.
Notwithstanding the limitations I feel when reading through this thread that a lot of good has come from it and I thank you all for responding.

Eek I don't have time to read the whole thread now but I have often wondered if we have a higher rate either of prevalence or diagnosis in the Jewish community. At least in the USA. For a long time I thought DS was just totally normal bc many of his classmates act the same way. Well, turns out, many of his friends have same diagnosis! (ADHD) No time to look on PubMed now but I do wonder if it's been studied, the rate of ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders in Jewish children.

Are learning disabilities, like dyslexia, included? I assumed not when I responded

I voted no. None of my kids have any developmental diagnosis bh, but my preschooler does have anxiety, which she's getting counseling for.

Could you explain what good you think has come from the poll? Not saying there is none but I'd like to understand what you see as positive.
