I am thinking about services that I could offer to a small business owner and would like some feedback either from people who have small businesses or know someone who does.
I am thinking of offering some kind of data managment business, I would handle your bookkeeping, databases mailing lists etc, prepare letters, excel documents.
How do you currently handle those aspects of your business, wuold you be willing to subcontract them out? on a per job basis? hourly basis etc?
I realize that most small business can handle these things on their own, so I guess it would be geared more toward a mid sized business or somone too busy to handle things?
do you think that this is a marketable idea?

If there's a market out there for it, then it sounds like a really great idea. But, just like with any business venture, you have to make sure that it's something that people will want and turn to you for.
