im due in feb iy"h, and found out im having a girl.
im intressted to know what your thoughts are on these 2 names and which version you preffer.

We have a Talia - we use both versions.
I prefer Yael to Yaeli, but if you choose Yael you'll probably end up calling her Yaeli anyway as a term of endearment

I think with both names, you can use the 2 interchangably. If you name Talia you can call Tali and if you name Yael you can call Yaeli. Incidentally I have a cousin whose real name (not nickname) is Yaeli. I like Talia a lot and would totally name it (if my husband agrees if I have a girl). I actually was supposed to be named Talia. My mom liked that but then my siblings and father convinced her to my name. Grrrr. I like Talia better!

DS was gonna be Talia if he was a girl - he's happy we made the appropriate name adjustment

I have a Tali. It's short for Avital. Talia is a totally different name.
