Does anyone have any suggestions for cities to stay over shabbos? We don't need a minyan, but we would like a hotel in an area where there are interesting things to walk to. TIA!

DC would be my bet, because so many of the attractions are free and you can actually go inside on Shabbos, plus they have minyan there as well.

Boston is a really fun city, on the Charles River, with lots of great family-friendly activities (Duck Boat tour, science museum, children's museum, aquarium, Boston Tea Party ship reenactment) and historical stuff (google "Freedom Trail," also Lexington and Concord a bit farther away), plus the Red Sox, beer tours, kosher restaurants and minyan, and more.
