We don't buy things too often for DS, but we want to get him a chanukah present.
Can anyone give some suggestions for a 2-yr old?
Thanks.

a toy would probably be the best.

if he's in playgroup or wehn in friends houses, are there any toys that you see he likes to play with that you don't have at home?

I have a ds age 2 and he likes to play with ride on toys, lego - quatro, and cars....

or you could go to a toy store and see what they would recomend for a 2 yr old boy...

good luck

thanks. He loves toy kitchens. But I was wondering if there's anything else.
When u go on these websites, to see age appropriate toys, they all have the real baby toys still. I think he's past that stage. But when you get to 3, they're too old.

a toy kitchen is cute, they have toddler kitchens too that are not so expensive, and you could always add toy food, fruits, plates etc to that.

you could go to babysrus and see what they sugges for a 2 year old,
and then search other websites to see if they have it for cheaper or different brands etc.

or you could take him to the toy store and see what interests him and then you decide if it's appropriate. my 2 year old is happy with anything we get him as long as we tell him it's a "present" - for some reason that word has magic to it.

I think puzzles are great for that age. But if he hasn't played with puzzles much until now, have him try some out by a friend so you make sure to get puzzles that are appropriate for him - not too hard or too easy.

My 2 year old son likes anything car / truck related, try getting him the "Little People" fire truck, school bus or car garage. The car garage is very popular and perfect for a two year old boy.

my parents got my 2 year old a table and chairs set (foldable!) and he LOVES it- he uses it to color, do playdough, etc. I wanted to get him a kitchen but they're expnesive and take up a lot of room. I got him a little people airplane, I hthink he'll like it.
