Five Towns Budget

Do you think it is better to live off 1 salary of $150K before taxes in the five towns or a combined income of $250K before taxes? If both spouses are working then significant income post taxes goes to child care, however there is more money left over for savings. I am curious to hear your thoughts as I would love to take a break from working to be with my kids but my salary is just at the point that it makes the decision very difficult as it is not easy to find good jobs in the $100K range.

So your asking is it better to live off of 150k or 250k?

Try living on $150,000 (plus a small amount for childcare) for a few months, and see if you can do it.
