- Does pregnancy affect the amount eligible for food stamps?

- in order ro receive WIC, do the kids need to be up to date with all immunizations?

TIA

I don’t remember if wic asks for immunizations. And food stamps does go up when baby is born once you send in proof.

I was going to apply for WIC but they did want my daughter's blood-work, and I don't do blood-work unless there's an issue.

The urgent care near me checks iron levels with a light thingy. Not sure how it works but WIC accepts the results. No prick needed.

In my experience, it did not go up during pregnancy, only after I informed them of the birth of the baby.

I was having difficulty getting my baby added onto my case because they somehow misplaced my proof of pregnancy and SNAP told me by phone that they increase the amount of food for pregant women. They were frustrated that I hadn't followed up on my initial letter notifying them about the pregnancy.

From my personal experience:

Snap eligibility and benefits does NOT increase for pregnancy. Medicaid does (counts as 2 people). They did increase the snap benefit automatically when my son was born.

Wic - asks for immunization record but benefits do NOT depend on immunization. You do not need to be up to date (or even having gotten any vaccines) to get benefits.

Op here.

Thanks for the replies. I actually called the number for food stamps and they told me there is no increase on food stamps during pregnancy, only after baby is born...

Thanks for the info about WIC.
