DD is a great smart strong willed , strong minded girl that gets herself all too frequently caught up in power struggles with her teachers/peers and occasionally her parents. She is mature and deep and loves to read and would gain from a self help book. Any good self help books out there? Help avoid power struggle- exercise self control when want to throw a sharp comment or when gets tied into a power struggle. TIA

Is she interested in this? A lot of schools have guidance counselors/social workers on staff now and it's not social death to go talk to them. Maybe a sw could coach her on this.
There are also some Jewish fiction books about kids and social issues - The Achdus Club books by Faygie Holt, Mr. Lister and Mr. Lister Strikes Again by Judith Pransky, Adina at Her Best by Rebecca Klempner. These kind of books could be a good springboard for discussion about conversations with classmates and other peers.

Which of these books would work for a boy?

The Mister Lister books are boys books. Let me think a bit about more books.
