I might have to make Pesach for the first time and would like to know what basic kitchen items I need. I don't want to buy anything extra though.
thanks

Seder essentials - matzot, wine/grape juice, horseradish or romaine, ingredients for charoset, zroah, etc ....
As for food - depends a lot on your minhag but easiest is to stick with the BASICS: meats, fish, vegetables and fruits. Oil, eggs, sugar, etc. You can do a lot with it.
Disposable goods -- paper plates, foil baking/cooking pans, etc
We have done a lot of our shopping already as who know what the situation will be like in a week or two.
I'm sure you will get a lot more suggestions. Chag Sameach.

sorry for not being clear. I don't mean food. I mean utencils to use in the kitchen. For example I know I need peelers, knives, soup pot, frying pan. What else?

Sorry, I read it wrong.
I'd suggest:
-Disposable pans, paper plates, plastic utensils, stryo cups (if using all these)
-Disposable one-use plastic covers for the dining room table (makes clean up very easy)
-set of pots and pans (meat) plus a few extra for parve things (eggs, etc)
-mixing bowls, spatula
-electric hand mixer, cheap food processor
-water urn and plata or blech
-good knives (very important), an extra or two for parve needs
-saran wrap, foil, ziploc bags, parchment paper for baking
-disposable storage containers (like cheap ziploc ones)
-cutting boards

IMHO, the REAL basics are:
- Soup pot
- Second pot for anything else
- Frying pan
- Wooden spoons
- Ladle
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Peeler
- Oven mitts
- Mixing bowl (for salads, can transfer into another container afterwards)
- Spoon
There are no appliances that are strictly necessary, assuming you have a stove and oven of some sort. You can boil water in a pot. You can mince maror instead of grating it. Kugels are not necessary (there are some that don't require grating, also). You do not need to make enough juice to require a juicer. You can use paper towels instead of kitchen towels. You can wash your pots and don't need a full set.
Other things DO make Pesach easier. I love my big food processor, industrial manual juicer, etc. But we would do fine without them too.

make a sample menu, and figure out how you would cook things.
In general, for meat, one big pot for soup and eggs, 1 frying pan, 1 smaller pot. For milk, 1 pot and 1 pan. A pyrex or two for veggies. Lots of disposables.
A couple of spatulas and wooden spoons.
Knives and cutting boards. Peeler. Measuring cup and measuring spoons. Mixing bowls.
