Can anyone help me with something I've been wondering for ages? In Camp Sternberg years ago there was a caving activity in Albany for Older Pioneers. It was extremely rigorous and intense, as far as I remember. Anyone know where/what this actually was? I would love to look it up online. I have such great memories and would love a frame of reference for the activity.

Never went to Sternberg.
Howe Caverns, is 45 minutes away from Albany

Years ago they went caving in New Paltz with Steve Lewenick (I’m misspelling the last name slightly) from Ascents of Adventure. That’s likely what you both are remembering. In recent years though, Steve no longer does caving trips and they switched to someone else (I forget who).
I’m wondering if the caves are even open during coronavirus (seems unlikely considering the fact that they are small, indoor places).
I can try to get the contact info for the more recent company though and you can find out yourself.
