Hi for NJ residents:

I was told that it’s easier to reach unemployment by phone on Sunday (dunno if you have to call earlier in the day but I called at 8:15). It’s true! After months and months, I reached them with less than a 15 minute hold time!!!!!

I requested that they give me the five weeks back to my date of separation: I had applied April 19 so was only able to claim benefits from then, but really my date of separation was mid-March.

The rep put it in for someone to look at it and said it could take up to 4 weeks, but that someone will reach out to me via email to ask for more information and I’ll be able to claim for those weeks when that happens.

I’ll keep you posted, but meanwhile that’s what u have to do....
And the best (and in my experience) only day you can reach them so far is on a Sunday.....
