I can't believe the price of bagels over here, and I've decided I want to make my own...dhh wants whole wheat and I'd like to make them mezonot for just a quick snack...Any recipes?

Can't you add more sugar, like a cup to your regular recipe for whole wheat challa?

It's a lot of work to make real bagels.
You have to boil them first, then bake them.

My mil has a delicious whole wheat mezonos egg-free recipe she makes bagels, rolls, bread, and adapts for challah. They are so delicious and terrific for kids because they're just about crumb-free.
I tried making them and I won't tell you what happened.
  
I have the recipe, if you want I'll post it and you can try it for yourself. My sil made it for challah and said she doubled the recipe and it was so good it all went.
