Call the barber shop at 1376 40th St, 11218 and see if they're open.

Buy a machine its easy to do yourself and you'll never look back. If you like short to a 2 on the sides and a 3 on the top easy peasy. If you want a little longer do a 3 on the sides and a 4 on the top. If you need your kids to glow and shine than this is not for you. If your coming with an understanding that in a week and ahalf no one will be able to tell than go go for it.

I started cutting my boys hair last spring due to corona shutdowns.

I use a 1/2 inch guard around the sides and the back until the bald spot, and scissors on top from the bald spot forward. And I remove the guard briefly to create a clean line at the nape of the neck by the hairline (without a guard in place, the machine gives a "0"). And then scissors around the ears.

I also do my husband's hair this way.

It looks the same as when they went to the barber.

I also learned to cut my girls hair!

Anyway, good luck! Maybe try a zip code a bit further out where non essential businesses are open.

I have fine motor skills on the level of a four-year-old and would therefore never subject my child (or my husband) to any haircut attempt using scissors, a machine, or any other utensil.
