I got tomatillios in the farmers market on 14th Ave and 50th street last week.
They are only there on Thursdays from 8:30 to about 2:30.

There's another Carnival market on Church and Beverly - unless this is the one in your original post? And Isaac Apple Farm on Church and E. 4th. That neighborhood is pretty mixed and I've never had issues with hostility or feeling unwelcome.

Edited to add: has anyone mentioned the Flatbush Food Co-op on Cortelyou and E. 16th? You don't need to be a member to shop or get their sale prices, which are often very good. And much of their produce is local, which has also nice.

They are!!
Whenever I would ask about something in Spanish to one of the Spanish people there they get very pleasantly surprised and ask me โ€œyouโ€™re Jewish?! How do you know Spanish?โ€

haha

Thank you everyone I just read this entire thread to see the addresses since I need to get stuff this week!

Weird question, it wouldnโ€™t be maaras ayin wouldnt it?

Like if I would go to a totally non jewish ethnic store (literally never, this year I only went once, to that Arab place I mentioned) I always feel like I need to hide from my people lol. ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ

There is absolutely no problem with going into a non-jewish store. If itโ€™s a restaurant there may be.
Some people prefer shopping in jewishly owned stores for comfort and to support fellow Jews.
You will make a kiddush HaShem in these other places.
