What weekday supper that is simple can I make with a frozen gefilte fish roll?
Fish balls? Is there a sauce that is thicker than just boiling in marinara?
Patties?
Do I defrost loaf fully or partially?
How long to bake?
Etc.
TIA

Fish balls.
Defrost roll.
Saut'e onions, garlic with peas & carrots & spices
Add bottle tomato juice, add in salt, pepper, sugar. Bring to boil.
Form balls from fish, drop in. Lower heat, let simmer long time they should float to top. Be soft but firm not break apart
Basically meatball style. You can add in some pasta into sauce to cook, later on or mix with cooked pasta.

Easy peasy slice the gefilte into half inch thick slices and fry!
Or definitely fish balls. Semi defrost so you can shape them. Cook in tomato sauce, add water and some sweetener.

I defrost for 10 minutes just so that I can slice, and bake in the oven on 375 for about 25 minutes (uncovered, on greased cookie sheet).
It's baked fish patties.

Do they get browned on top at all? Do you spray on top with Pam or something?

Gets browned.
I don't spray the top, just the pan.

Defrost it, then bake it with cut up veggies around it. I use onions, mushrooms, and zucchini. Pour a can of tomato sauce over it, season how you like, then add a drizzle of dry white wine if you have any. Serve with rice or couscous or ordo or quinoa or something of the sort.

1 can peas and carrots
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 can water (from the tomato sauce)
Sugar (1/2-3\4 cup depending on how sweet you like it)
Either cut the roll into slices or leave whole.
Peas and carrots first in the pan, fish on top. Tomato sauce and water and sprinkle sugar around.
Cover and bake for 1 hour and uncover and bake another hour. You can bake it for less, my family likes it well done.
I serve this with bagels or rolls because there's the sauce with the fish.

Am I stupid?
Is there something wrong with me?
Cook the fish the way your family likes and serve it.
We have fresh (as in not left over) gefilte fish. Here is your fish, potatoes, and stringbeans.
How was your day?
Finished.

I think the idea was to distinguish it from Shabbos gefilte fish.

I defrost until soft and then with wet hands I form into patties. Bake on a cookie sheet with parchment paper until for approx 20 min (350-400 depending on how dark you want them). My kids used to call these fish cookies.

I defrost till soft, add a bunch of matzah meal, eggs, spices, a drop of sugar, and fry patties. Kids love them and also call them fish cookies.
