What's the best thing to fill them with? They're quite small and some of my kids are young, so I don't want it too messy. Can be milchig or fleishig.
Any ideas?

Fish sticks and shredded chicken are favorites of my kids. Ground beef seems to work better in the hard shells

I love them with ground beef but you're right, with kids it's extra messy.
How about fish tacos with avocado?

How do you prepare the ground beef? Maybe I'll be brave and try it. We'll see how it works out.

I sauté 2 lbs of ground beef with some taco seasoning and a little water. It’s super easy. I make the recipe from Allrecipes you can also just buy a packet. https://www.allrecipes.com/rec.....ng-I/
This is one of my kids favorites. My 6 year old ate three tacos last week I almost fell over when I saw his plate was empty.

1.25 lb. ground beef
3/4 cup water
1 package Ortega taco seasoning mix
Brown beef; drain. Stir in water and seasoning mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 6 minutes or until mixture is thickened.
Spoon beef onto tacos. Add some vegetables (cubed tomato, avocado or whateveryou like). Roll and eat.
Do you have the seasoning mix, or do you need a recipe for it?

chicken cutlets
taco sauce (or whatever sauce you prefer)
chopped onion
throw it all into a crockpot on low for a few hours.
Once it's ready, shred it apart with 2 forks.
Heat the tacos over an open flame.(I like to lightly brush with some olive oil to give it a char as well as eliminating the "processed taco" taste.
Top it with:
lettuce
shredded chicken
avocado
canned corn
fresh cilantro

Make nachos! Cut the tacos into triangles and bake them until crispy. And then load up on the nacho toppings

I have the seasoning mix the kit comes with. Thank you so much. Gonna try it tomorrow.
