New mom here reading up on parenting and the like, observing different mom habits, how'd you decide the way you want to parent and your parenting behaviors? Does it really depend on each child?

In all fairness it all depends on the day, weather, situation.

I learned about Montessori parenting when I was in school, and I was like hey that’s what I wanna be when I grow up.
The coolness was a given, regardless of what parenting modality I would have chosen 😎

I’m chilled mom. I’m in the “nothing matters, it’s all meaningless” stage.
Not overthinking anything, rolling along, everything will be fine, taking the chaos day by day. As long as my kids are happy and healthy, I feel like a winner.
I hope this feeling lasts. I wasn’t always like this.

Chilled cool tiger mom here!
I make them do extra work besides what the school requires, at the same time I'm chilled regarding mess, and I'm cool because they say I am!!

Negligent mom here. I used to helicopter but I burned out. Last night I came home from work and put pizza bagels in the oven for myself offered if they wanted too and when they didn’t I told them to fend for themselves. If it matters, my youngest is a HS senior.

Telling your HS senior to find food in a kitchen full of food is far from negligent!

I parent my 2 kids very differently but also some things I do for both. You find a parenting style that suits your personality and values and works for your kids.
I'm a very organized person so behavioral approaches work for me. I also found certain methods bring peace and harmony, like play, brainstorming, choices etc..however, one child does really well with overt compliments, the other not so I move along with them. They also need different things at different stages.
Hatzlocha! You're already one step ahead!

How did I choose my style of parenting? I didn’t.. it’s the same personality I’ve always had, in a mom version. I do try to better myself and take parenting classes etc. but sometimes I’ll tell my kids something and I’m like when did I morph into my mom?!?! (Not hating, I have a great mom bh!!)
