I just saw the dentist last week and he said because I’ve been grinding my teeth at night, cartilage in my jaw has worn away. The litmus test he did to my jaw to diagnose actually really hurt and has brought my awareness to the issue. I have a night guard and I am definitely motivated to wear it every night now!
I am wondering if I wanted to follow up with a specialist about how to treat this and how to keep more cartilage from wearing away, what kind of doctor would I go see?
Also has anyone tried acupuncture for this?

Oral surgeon or PT specializing in TMJ. A regular PT will not touch this. Acupuncture is also a possibility.
