Does anyone have any recipes for green beans? I've already maxed out Spice and Spirit and Kosher Pallate! Thanks.

My daughter had green beans in sweet tomato sauce at a friend's house. Any ideas how to make. This thread is so timely b/c she just asked for them for Fri night.

Very simple but really good is to saute a bunch of shallots in olive oil once they are transluscent add the string beans and saute a few more minutes. Add salt and pepper.

So I made this for Friday night. I took a jar of Barilla garlic flavor tomato sauce and added tons of garlic and onion powder as well as some brown sugar till it was slightly sweetened. I added the green beans and simmered for a while, till the beans were slightly soft, but still had a little crunch - I have no idea how long, I had no problems taking samples till it was just right Smile

DH and DCs devoured it all.
