what made you uncomfortable? she didn't use any bad language, refer disdainfully to other ethnic groups, mention any religion, or advocate any values that violate any of the 10 Commandments. what, she didn't say "did you daven today, where's your rebbe quote, here's your tzdaka money and a mitzvah note, did you bench, did you wash, did you say shema, do you KNOW-- where's your gemarAH?"
I think she's brilliant. I'm green with envy. To be able to sing the william tell overture is amazing enough. To be able to write lyrics to fit the William tell Overturre is another whole league talent-wise. To be able to sing it and enunciate everything at such a clip--wow. Then, she really has collected all the classic things american mothers say over and over--and made them rhyme, not just any old vanilla rhyme but some zingy unexpected ones of the Ogden nash variety. Like "your I-pod is my pod if you don't straghten out". love it love it love it. emailed the lyrics to all my friends.

Makes me wonder if we all have the same mother!
I actually sent it to my mother who thought it was pretty funny too.

It's not my thing but I can see how, theoretically at least, it could be amusing.

An idea for you: create the "yiddishe mame mantra"... that's a good start anyway ;-)

One of the best clips I've ever seen! It made the rounds on the internet a few months ago. Must have millions of views by now.

It's actually worth watching a few times. Each time you pick up something you missed before!
