it's not actually eating ... but keeps my mouth occupied ... so what do you think about chewing gum on a fast ???

How do you say in yiddish is pas nisht? Something like that. You fast, you keep the mouth empty.

one gains nothing from it - since it is not usually swallowed - the juice is the saliva
anyways ...
