There is not going to be any Bar Mitzvahs anywhere for the next few weeks, because 13 years ago was not an 'iber yar' so anyone born that year in Adar, their B"M is in Adar 2.
I found it very interesting.

Come to think of it, it gives all of us more time to clean for Pesach instead of busying ourselves with Bar Mitzvahs

We had a Bar Mitzvah in shul yesterday. I didn't ask the family about the logistics, but I know for a fact that it happened.

People may have delayed aliyas/parties because of covid. Only the bo bayom needs to be on actual date of birth.

I find it hard to believe that everybody is so makpid to do it on the exact Shabbos. You become bar mitzvah when you turn 13 anyway. The ceremony isn't truly required at all.

Right my ds doesn't have any shabbos as it's pesach so he's leining on a Monday, his actual boi bayom and doing a little l'chaim/reception afterwards! I'm more than happy with this plan as the seuda is costing us enough and it's enough work for me just to organise everyones clothing so close to pesach

Yeah, I should have said there are no Bo bayom bar mitzvas. Parties could be made anytime.

The 'bo bayom' could have been beginning of last week, which was still in shvat. I also know of a B"M kiddush yesterday.
