Eating a container of ice cream or having hot dogs wrapped in egg roll wrappers deep fried?
Would it make a difference if it was air fried, it was definitely oily?

What kind of ice cream?

In general sugar is a bigger enemy than oil.

I would have the hot dogs. With that, you're getting protein and carbs, and it will probably fill you up. I feel like with the ice cream, I'd be hungry for real food soon after.

I think the ice cream is healthier, only dairy of course. And of course if you're deep frying the hot dog.

I would say ice cream is better. Has calcium and identifiable ingredients. Hot dogs are full of nitrates, never mind the frying component.

It depends on how big the container of ice cream is.

I pick sugar over nitrites.
Assuming the person is not diabetic and there are no medical nutrition needs.

I was a bit frustrated when dd said she ate ice cream as opposed to what was being served but then I realized what it was and I wasn’t sure if the other choice was anyways healthier. I don’t normally give my kids hot dogs.
She did say she would have something to eat later on . I don’t know if she did or not I’m not asking.
But that got me thinking which is better to eat of the two.

I would also say that ice cream is a better choice. Hotdogs dont count as food in my house. Overly processed and full of harmful additives. But anyways if it is a one time thing, it wouldnt make much of a difference either ways.

That’s why I said just for fun. It was hopefully a one time thing but got me thinking.

Hmmm... good question:

Ice cream- lots of fat (can be argued it is healthy fat) and lots of sugar. Not super processed.

Hotdogs deep fried in egg roll wrappers- questionable amount of nutrition, questionable ingredients, much more processed, lots of carbs too in the wrapper, lots of fat (that cannot be considered remotely healthy imo).

I would go with ice cream. 🍦 🍨 🍦 🍨

There isn't any one enemy, though sugar is high up on the enemy list. Like others said the nitrites and garbage in the hot dogs might be worse. Even a person who has sugar issues is supposed to stay away from cured meat. It's as important as staying away from sugar and has a bad effect on blood sugar levels.
If the ice cream was dairy I'd choose the ice cream, but pareve ice cream could go either way. There are some healthy-ish pareve desserts made with coconut or almond milk. The cheaper old fashioned pareve ice creams are made with nasty types of trans-fat based thickeners, in which case pick your poison, hot dogs or ice cream. Then detox for a week Wink

Neither. In which case, choose which one you like better.
Ice cream - yum!
