I noticed my young dd air was very dead looking and she was getting a bald spot. Pediatrician said it can be tension alopecia and only thing to try to reverse is to stop tight ponies. Also sent us for bloodwork.
Anyone have experience with this ( vitamins oils etc.) or knows who would be able to help us?

Just realize, before you get help from people and resources, that alopecia vs alopecia areata are 2 very different diseases.
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease and treatment of it is very very different (think autoimmune diets, meds etc) than alopecia that comes from malnutriton, hair pulling, etc

ETA im saying this because people often use the word alopecia for both. It's rare for someone to call it alopecia areata, they just say alopecia

As of now we don’t know which one it is. I would take her to a specialist/ dr more knowledgeable. My dr is sending her for bloodwork to see if thyroid related etc… I am so lost AND WORRIED

Naaf.org also has local support groups throughout US and canada, but not jewish. I have alopecia areata and they were a big help to my parents with getting funding for wigs, treatments, etc. Beware the steroid treatments as they can stunt growth in young kids and not show lasting results. I would go to a dermatologist with experience with AA and do your own research.
