Does it have an old fashioned switch you could tape down?

So you need to figure out where the mechanism that tells the fridge it's open is.
Or find the model number so we can try to find the right manual

Hi we have a LG refrigerator. We bought a really strong magnet. Figured out the spot where the door sensors are. On our fridge, it's on top of the fridge where the door hinges are. Placed the magnet with Velcro on that spot.
This tricks the sensors into "thinking" the door is still closed even if opened. Thereby preventing the screen from turning on.
