Does coconut milk need a hecksher? I heard the goya brand from south america is good, but there's no hecksher.

I would think so. Why not just buy a coconut and drill a couple of holes in it?

Then that would be coconut juice or water. Coconut milk is the liquid that comes from squeezing the coconut flesh. You probably could take the coconut flesh and put it through the food processor and then press or squeeze the milk out. That would be really fresh coconut milk.

If you hold by kosherquest.org, they say that as long as it's not from China, it can be used.

There are different opinions, and we've discussed them here before, if someone wants to do a search. The lite variety, howver, is not available with a hechser.
