Some Icecreams use a custard base - so based on that, I would say yes, more info I do not have - sorry

Homemade custard CAN NOT be frozen. However, if you buy the powdered mix (Peppermill probably carries it, and some kosher groceries,) It can be frozen after make-up ONE TIME only. It's actually called freeze-thaw, commercially, and it's used by bakeries in eclairs, etc (remember the Lowens mini cream puffs anyone?) To use as a great cream puff/eclair/napoleon/etc. filling, mix the custard with beaten whipped topping.

when I froze a custard pie made with cornstarch it defrosted GROSS. but I froze boston cream pie with flour as the thickener, and it did great.
test it out.
