Who learns in your community shavous night?
In my neighborhood, I've noticed there are as many men as women. Is that very unusual? I'm proud that limud torah for women is considered as important as for men. There are many women only groups studying and many co-ed ones. I actually haven't heard any for only men.
My impression is that with young families the parents split equally who gets to go to a shiur; it isn't a given that it is the man who goes. (at least thats the way it works for us; last year we got a babysitter and both went together).
I remember one year staying up in my hometown, and my father was very proud when someone asked if him if his boys stayed up all night and he answered that his girls did too...

Depends on the age group. Among the younger set it's about equal but among older people it's mostly men. Of course it's possible that the older women are learning at home and not going out to the community learn-a-thons.

Before I was married, I remember staying up all night learning with the single ladies and being very excited.
I told a Rebbetzin the next day about how great it was and I asked if she stayed up all night learning...She looked startled..."Just wait till you have kids iy'h...you'll want to sleep."
Well, I was thinking "I hope I NEVER get so tired I won't be able to stay up on Shavuos."
When I was pregnant, I went to learn with other ladies in my community (each one had one or was pregnant or not yet)
Then when I had my baby, I also went out...
Then when I had one baby and was pregnant with my second, I stayed home, but learned an hour before crashing...
Then when I had two, I fell asleep on the couch after`10 minutes...
Well, should I even try this year?
