Why do you have to give oatmeal? Boiled veg and fruits mashed or boiled.

I never gave my babies oatmeal at all. Offer them cottage cheese, yogurt fruit, eggs.

Teeth don't make anything safer to eat really, just easier with tough foods. Teeth are used for grinding and tearing, not for chewing. There is nothing that is classified as a choking hazard if the child has less than X number of teeth and not a choking hazard otherwise.

Oatmeal is such a wholesome, filling food. What's wrong with giving it to babies? We all eat Oatmeal for breakfast, all ages.

In Israel I saw they made a special baby oatmeal made of kitniyos instead of actual oatmeal

The processed baby oatmeal isn’t as wholesome as we tend to think

And for everyone saying just give real food - the only food my baby will eat is baby oatmeal. She refuses everything else. It's not so simple.

All the things I listed above are as soft or softer than oatmeal. Babys gums are also very strong and can handle almost anything. Please don’t limit your babys diet, the best thing for them is to get fed a big variety early on.
If you need more guidance there’s a great baby led weaning app that tells you exactly what foods to feed in which way at what age. I forgot what the app is called but I’m sure you can find it with a quick google search.
Good luck!

The whole concept of baby oatmeal is so funny to me. If your baby is too little to eat a regular sized cooked oat then they probably shouldn't be eating solid food at all. And if you're really too nervous, farina is a thing.

Nothing at all. It’s just annoying to send to daycare and we don’t usually eat hot breakfast

Haven’t tried this yet, but DH suggested mixing matzo meal with applesauce or water or juice to make an oatmeal-like mush.

My mom makes Pesach granola, it's sooo good. I'll get the recipe one day. It's like candied matzah bits and slivered almonds and dried fruit I guess.

oatmeal is very calming and makes the body warm.
In my opinion, there is no substitute.
The only way to make sure he is satisfied with food is to try different foods.
