Mixed.
I didn't have for housekeeping, I had for twins but I think it's relevant anyway.
1. Ask for and call references.
2. It has to be a good match for your family. I had one that could've been great, but she was too particular about cleanliest for my large family and one of my kids triggered her. She also was newish and didn't know much about dairy and meat so I told her she can't wash up my kitchen and she didn't like that either.
I did have 2 really great ones though.

We had a great experience with Rock-a-bye. Had someone for six months due to complicated circumstances.
