What are the closest to communities to LIJ?
We are JPF and would want to bus our kids to five towns yeshivas/schools.

West hempstead, great neck, Queens ?
Maybe 5towns lots of ppl work in that area too.( Inwood, bayswater and far rockaway have lower property taxes)

What’s JPF? Are you buying it renting? Bud rides to the 5 towns can start up to 1 1/2 hours before school actually starts if you live in communities closer to LIJ.

JPF is Just Plain Frum - not yeshivish, not MO, I don't want a CoEd school..
Not sure if buying or renting
Which communities are close to LIJ?
5 towns seems a bit far.

I'd say look into the 5 towns if they're going to school there.
Great neck is closest west hempstead is nearby and there's kgh/Hillcrest jamiaca estates etc all the Queens communities

Jamaica Estates is closest, but it's a small community. You should also look into Kew Gardens Hills, which isn't that far and would probably be a good fit socially.

I live in the five towns and it takes around 30 minutes by car to get to LIJ. It is really not a bad commute. It probably makes more sense for you to live here and commute to LIJ then for you to live closer to LIJ and have your kids commute to school. A school bus ride will take a lot longer than half hour.
Also I dont know how your old kids are but the local school here don't generally take kids from Queens for elementary school - only high school. They do take Great Neck and West Heampstead though because there are no RW schools in those places.
