Try Lowes or Home Depot.

Or any child safety site.

just to add, I do NOT have a car so I am limited to buying online or a store in my neighborhood (crown heights).

if you live in an apartment and have young children - the landlord must provide them ... I'm pretty sure ...

Green, landlords must do many things... but often it's just easier to give in and do something yourself instead of begging and pleading/withholding rent/taking it to court.
(NOT saying this is cb's issue, but I've had my fair share of such cases.)

Besides, I don't think they are required to provide for a fire escape window. It should always be free and accessible.

If you want to order online, try www.onestepahead.com

However, in NYC the landlord is REQUIRED to put it in for you. Look online or call 311 for details. It is a crime for them not to do it.
