Anyone know how much day care costs for non CHS slot? For 1 or 2 year old.
Always assumed it wasn't an option due to the expense but curious how it compares..

$750-$1200 depending on how established it is and how desperate they are to fill slots. It really varies

CHS is a government program that pays for daycares. So in Lakewood there are gorgeous daycares that only accept CHS. Most people don't qualify for the program and send to morahs in the house...
Some people choose to send to the CHS daycare even though they don't qualify and therefore have to pay a lot more then the morahs in the house. Some of these daycares don't even accept private pay

I’m paying what comes out to $16/hr for my 2 yr old and $20/hr for my one year old. Established daycare of that makes a difference.

This year there are still some daycares charging under 1k for toddlers, but by next year it will range from 1k - $1500 depending on the age. This is for a CHS daycare for private pay. Most won't even look at you're not on CHS.
There are some "daycares" that are not CHS eligible but have decent hours/ options for vacation days. You might want to look into those.

Bliss accepts non chs , Cozy island in theory but they are probably full, Kids place accepts non chs.
I think Giggle also does.
Between 1075-1600 depends and the a higher price might include extended hours.

Bliss is probably the only option for next year. Only because they just opened.
Kidz place pretty much kicked out all private pay for next year and Giggl officially takes private but they charge so much because they really only want CHS.

Not true. They may write it on the application as an option but will not accept you if private pay is selected.

Sorry for the stupid question, but why would a daycare only want CHS kids?

Because they don’t want to have to deal invoicing and chasing parents for payment. The government pays them.
