Learned from a friend in the bungalow colony…
Get iron on labels. Loop it around a strap, iron the two ends together.

I tried knotting a colored piece of yarn tightly around the strap in back as a siman. We'll see how long it lasts.

Loop it around the strap. You can sew the two ends together, or tape it around the loop a couple of times.

Yes sew the two ends of the label together around the strap, encircling it.

Label maker! It’s long enough that you can loop it around one strap and stick the ends together. And the labels are waterproof so lasts long time.
If you don’t have one, it’s really not expensive on amazon and it’s great item to have.
