Has anyone tried moving somewhere OOT for a few months up to a year to try it out? Please can you share which OOT community and how it worked out for you?
Very open but need to formulate ideas and logistics.

If you have kids in school, this isn't feasible. If you live in one place only for the summer and other vacations, you won't get a balanced comparison.

The only way I can see it working is if your kids are babies/toddlers and you have flexibility with your jobs

It's feasible for a summer. I know in Waterbury people rent out homes for the summer. But it's not the same as year round. Sure other oot places have similar.

Yes, kids are very young and not in school yet. Thanks so much for the replies.
