I was thinking of plating my salad for tonight's meal but I want to know if it would use a lot more ingredients than just a bowl of salad. Anyone know?

Do you mean the salad would have to be larger because everybody gets a portion, whereas if everybody is free to take the amount of salad they want, they would eat less of it? If so, just plate smaller portions.
