I have always wanted a second large freezer.
Can anyone help guide me / recommend a freezer or brand.
Also which store would you recommend in lakewood/ tri-state area?

I’m not sure that brand really matters all that much if you are just getting a plain basic freezer. Go online and read reviews. I have two half-size freezers (not mini but not full size) one I purchased within the past 2 years the other around 5+ years ago. Neither are big name brands and both are working fine and just as well and the day we got them. Neither are self defrost which would have been amazing but nothing was anywhere near or price range in the size we needed that was self defrost.

Make sure you take measurements to the doorways and stairways so that the freezer will actually fit. Also be mindful of ceiling height especially if you're planning on putting the freezer in the basement.

I like a stand up freezer better than the chest type. you also have to decide if you want manual defrost or frost free.

This. I worked with the appliance people to figure out what size I needed. And we still needed to remove the door of the freezer in order to get it down the stairwell.
We bought an upright freezer, frost free, from Frigidaire that could be brought down to our basement.
