How can we find out the hours and more information?
We will be visiting EY, staying in Yerushalayim, 4 kids, no car. Other ideas welcome too.

I believe ein yael is only for groups, except during holidays. Go to their website and find their email address, and ask them. Tell them you're a tourist looking to come with your family, and tell them your dates. See if they can accommodate you.
What time of year is this for?
In general, it's hard to get around without a car, and if you'd really like to fill your days with touring you should consider renting a car.

It's open the week of the 13th. You need to book tickets online.
I have gone a few times with kids up to age 10/11 and they had a fabulous time. We spent 4-6 hours there.

Ein yael is an outdoors activities place near the zoo (on the road towards the gush)
Not ein gedi.
