I am looking for songs that can inspire me to have a relationship with Hashem and to be a better Jew. Being frum is hard for me and I don’t feel a personal connection to Hashem or to the community, but I really wish I did. I want to improve, especially now it’s Elul.
Anyone have any songs that can help with this, or any advice?
Thank you so much.

Hi, OP.
Try the old "Horeini" from an Eitz Chaim (Toronto) or London or NY SOJM. Or Rochel Miller's "Lulei He'emanti", or indeed any song that's been put to words from L'Dovid Hashem Ori.
Another beautiful one is Eitan Katz's L'Ma'ancha.
Or any tune of "L'Ma'an Achai" or "Yehi Shalom".
Or practically anything from the Yomim Nora'im machzorim.
Or "Ani Ma'amin" or "Esah Einai".
Hope these help.
I'm actually working on such a song but need to finish typesetting a third and fourth page to the several verses. (Pages one and two are just the lyric sheets. Pages three and four are a singing guide for the benefit of choristers.) It's called "Take Us Back", and it's to the tune of "L'Amour est Bleu".
Hatzlacha and I salute and encourage your self-improvement aspirations. May we all do likewise.
Early wishes for a good and sweet T'hei Sh'nas P'sichas D'lasos.

I love the Miracles albums by Chayale Neuhaus, particularly Broken Heart (on album 3) and Holding Back the Tide (on number 2).

Who says what does it for me will do it for you?
Do you feel a connection with any particular psukim or with any time of year? Any singers that can move you?
I remember one Erev Rosh Hashanah when I was waiting to be blessed with kids. Motty Ilowitz has then put out a beautifu CD if yiddish songs, one of them about the power of Tekias Shofer.
I remember crying my eyes out in my kitchen for a good hour straight.
It needs to speak to you.

Thank you so much everyone for your suggestions. I am having a hard time finding some of these songs, so if anyone has links to them I would appreciate it.
Also, to the poster that said
[quote="amother Olive"]Who says what does it for me will do it for you?
You are 100% right. And I don’t know what to do. Because I’m looking for inspiration but I find that I’m not able to connect to anything now. It’s very painful.

Ishai Ribo’s Seder Haavodah makes me feel like I’m seeing the Kohanim at the Beis Hamikdash.

OP:
Further suggestions:
Eilecha Hashem Ekra
Ekra l'Elokim Elyon
Hashiveinu
Bilvavi
Eitz Chayim
Yedid Nefesh
Many, many choices from Tehillim.
I'm sure you'll come across something that speaks to you. Just keep listening. I have found that most of the tunes I've downloaded onto my iPod are from D'veykus, Lev Tahor, Shalsheles, or V'Havieinu.
Have you tried Eitan Katz's L'Ma'ancha yet? It's viewable on YouTube. I think it's under the title "Live in Yerushalayim".
Keep searching. You'll get there. Hatzlacha.
BTW, the reason I have not included any links with the above suggestions is that, except for the last one (L'Ma'ancha), practically any recording of any tune to those words may inspire you. I think the Ekra I have in mind is from a V'Havieinu album, as is another beautiful song, Olatz (Shiras Chana).
Please let us know when you have found one or more that works for you.
Shana Tova uM'suka.

Never Alone by Avraham Fried (I like the recording live from the HASC concert even better than the original recording)
