Yes, the whoop does this. It’s overpriced though.

There is an app for that, I think it's called "Sleep Cycle".

if you're not wearing it, how does an app on your phone track your sleep cycle?

You put it on your bed and it tracks your movement I think, I used to use an app like that and it really worked. I stopped because I got human alarm clocks who don't care about my sleep cycles LOL

I know this isn't what you're asking, but I used a Phillips wake up light and found it worked well to get me up more refreshed and less jarring. It gradually lightens up so you wake up gradually.

thanks. has anyone used whoop or something else. I prefer a device without a monthly subscription but if it's good, I'd consider.

When they're in a lighter stage of sleep.

What happens if you wake from a deeper stage of sleep?
Is it not best to wake up on your own?

you wake up tired if you wake up during deeper stage. I use an alarm clark so I want to wake up at the most optimal point.

I used the whoop but I went to sleep too late each night so it didn't end up working for me.

Basically the way it works is that you put in a range of times when you'd like to be woken up. The whoop will either wake you up at your optimal time, or at the last possible time.

Because I was going to sleep too late I wasn't getting any benefits out of it.

If you're more disciplined and you're careful to go to sleep at the right time, it can work great.

Btw I've heard the latest Apple Watch (series 8) would be able to do this as well, but I don't own one so I couldn't really say.

Why would going to sleep too late cause it not to work? Don't you just give a later wake up time range?
I don't have apple products. Is there something like this in Android?

I was going to sleep too late for my wakeup time. You can set your wakeup time for whatever you want.
There isn't really an Android option but you can try Fitbit. I'm not sure what the Fitbit tracks or how it knows your sleep cycle.
