Idk if it's a plata or blech, and how do I search online for it?

Google didnt say when I typed in blech what the english term is but it knew what I was talking about.
A Plata is a hot plate.

The literal meaning of blech is tin. I don't believe the object has an English term. I once walked into a hardware store and asked for a piece of sheet metal to put on a stove.The owner said "In other words, you want a blech."

I'm searching for hot plate but it's just giving me the ones you plug in. I searched for a metal sheet cover and they're all not supposed to be used with heat!
Any other suggestions?
