I know that in our circles it’s ungenimen that the shvigger buys the carriage. What does the mother usually buy? First baby…

I know not everyone follows the rules. But generally…?

Everything else!

Clothes, blanket, crib

Not everyone pays for all of that but that depends on you.

I don’t know what the norm is but my parents traditionally gift a glider and a bassinet. Depending on their financial situation they sometimes will provide a cheap carriage if it’s wanted

Nobody I know got a crib. Usually get most things the baby needs for first few weeks like stretchies undershirts pacis. And most move into their moms house so they get taken care of there.

My mom helped, bought the first few clothings etc.

We’re Heimish and very much play by the rules. Mil buys carriage, bris outfit if there is one. There’s nothing that mom officially gets- it’s usually the help + picking up what’s needed but not a gift just more odds and ends

Ask or accept if offered?
