A lot of West Hempstead people send to Bais Yaakov in Queens. There is also Bnos Malka. For boys, Queens has Yeshiva Ketana and Tiferes Moshes. I would imagine the ride is 40-60 minutes.
There are a lot of schools in the Five Towns/Far Rockaway area. That’s a closer bus ride I’d imagine 30-40 minutes. For girls, you have Shulamis, Tag, etc. Boys you have Yeshiva Ketana, South Shore, Darchei, etc.

I know people who were formerly part of Chofetz Chaim that moved to West Hempstead. They still send their kids to Queens for school.
Directly, without traffic, it's about 35 minutes. Take in account stops and rush hour traffic and it does take longer.

I don't know the name of the shul, but I believe the rav is R' Lesser.
You will find a sprinkling of right wing in the Young Israel, but they are a minority there.
