Hear hear! Currently sitting in my kids' room singing kumzitz songs. They've learned the words and they're singing along instead of falling asleep! I need some new songs

Ugh yes. A losing battle. Brushing teeth makes me pull out my hair.

Same here!!! WHYYYYY????
My kid is sensory. Is yours too?
Op can I add?
Getting up is a fight.
Getting dressed in time is a fight.
Eating is a fight.
Not bothering the siblings is a fight.
Going to play is a fight.
No more.
If they don't want bath, fine, no bath, but you will be stinky and I hope your friends won't notice although likely you'll feel yucky and they will.
You don't want to brush your teeth, fine so you'll get cavities. (Not really. That's not optional)
You don't want to get up and get dressed for the bus, you'll have to go w the little kids bus.
You don't want to take that bus, fine, I'll call a cab and take the money off ur account (purim/chanuka get.) I only had yo do it ONCE per kid. Not anymore.
Other than teeth, I just let them deal with the consequences once or twice. And then the power of the fight is out.....
Now my 10 year old is in 5th grade. They get 3 lates per term after that it's a $10 knas. I made it very clear that I'm not paying for it. And her money is waaay too precious....
You BET she prepares her stuff before bed, gets up in time and makes the bus EVERY MORNING.
Good luck!

I started doing baths earlier, and it's been a gamechanger. It makes bedtime so much easier.

Same. On bath day dinner can be eaten once they have taken their baths. We switched to baths every other day unless they are especially dirty for some reason. Every other day has made them slightly more ok with taking showers/baths on the days they need to.
