The whole broccoli is usually more expensive than the chopped. I wouldn't waste it by chopping it. Either roast or sauté. Delicious!

It's usually in pieces, not lengthwise
There's more of the good top part

Are you making a kugel? Chopped broccoli is literally teeny pieces, mostly stem. Please don't ruin your gorgeous florets by chopping them. Improvise and make something else from your delicious broccoli!

Roast your whole broccoli and buy a new bag of chopped broccoli
You can technically chop in the food processor but why waste it?

Am I the only person who doesn't understand this thread at all?
Why is it so difficult to chop a head of broccoli?

I assumed she bought the frozen prechecked. If she bought the long stem, it costs a fortune. Why waste it by chopping into bits?

Take a knife and dice it up. Or thaw is partway and pulse it quickly in the food processor with the s knife blade.

I assumed she bought this (this is what "whole broccoli," as it says in the thread title, means to me):
And wants this:
So I don't understand the issue. You take a knife and chop it up.
