To me, that everything that is going on around the world is an inter-generational deja-vu.
The horrific happenings in Eretz Yisroel and response from around the world. pro-hamas demonstrations that chant openly anti-semitic slogans, calling for death to the Jews. lynch mobs going to hotels and the airport in Russia, looking for Jews, checking passports. college campuses becoming more openly dangerous for Jews. Other things going on all around the world.
I remember my grandparents speaking of what it was like to escape Europe, the shock and betrayal of a world gone mad, and the horror of unspeakable action inflicted on so many Jews around the world.
My german grandparents always spoke of how no one expected the germans, who were "so cultured" to do such things. Yet here we are. And now, despite the lessons of history, it is happening again. We are at risk around the world, simply because we are Jewish.
My grandparents are no longer here, but I can't help but wonder what they and their parents would say if they knew what was going on today.
