My husband and I both agreed on a baby name. He really loves the first one and plans to only call her that. I plan to call her by both. I plan to do this because the rabbi who named me said it’s a kabbalastic thing / important to call by both names. This is why I removed one of her names. Before I would’ve given her 3 names, but now only 2. I’m concerned that my husband will forget to be called up to torah by both names and only use the one he plans to call her by. I told him not to forget, even if he only wants to call her by one. Is there anything I should do in case he forgets or to remind him?

Fathers usually remember to use the whole name when getting an aliya

I heard parents should use all names once a day.

Why would you think he would forget the babies name by the Aliya????
Almost everyone I know has 2 names and is called by one or a nickname
I promise you no one forgets when it comes so aliyas 🤨
Eta- rabbi who named you?? Why didn’t your parents name you?

Maybe OP suspects "forget on purpose ".

I think you just need to be relaxed about this. You can us both he can us one. This isn't Halacha. Maybe Minhag, maybe Kabbalah. I know many many Gedolim who didn't call the kids by both names.

First off, there is no halacha about it, as naming two names is a fairly recent phenomenon. Second, it says “it is proper” which, in my mind, is not the same this as MUST. Third, obviously not everyone holds this way.
OP, I have two names. I never ever used my second name, and my father never ever forgot it when he got an aliyah. Many shuls have Aliya cards, which the gabai can look at if for any reason the father forgets. Honestly though, in all my shul going years, I never heard a father forget a child’s full name.

Unless he has a disorder, there's no reason he would forget his child's name.

The name is completely made up, not after anyone. It just expresses my longing for my dd (couldn’t conceive her for almost 2 years).
