I love writing music for fun. Is there anything to do with it? How do I know if it can be turned into something/produced?

When you get useful answers, please share them with me.
I write songs too, and the only way I have of sharing them with others and leaving a musical legacy (as I have no children) would be to organize a choir, then teach and have them perform my songs.
As to how to know whether yours are "marketable", try them out on a few peers.
Mine are categorized under "New Tunes to Old Words"; "New Words to Old Tunes"; "Original Music and Lyrics"; "Counterpoint"; "Secular Songs" (including about 11 instrumentals); and "Singable Translations".
