The daycare says she's often hungry and not very happy with baby food anymore. She recently cleared her allergy testing so she can have anything. So far she has eaten formula, baby food, Bamba, pieces of breakfast cereal...we tried to give her mashed up chicken but she didn't seem to like it lol. What are some ideas of what else I can feed her, at home or to send to daycare?

first time parent, please be nice

Download the solid starts app, it’s amazing. I’m a first time mom with a one year old too and I look up everything on the app before serving it to my baby. It shows you how to safely feed it to your baby at each age and lets you know if it’s a high choking hazard food or not.

I feed my one year old pretty much everything. She eats scrambled eggs cut into little pieces, American cheese, rice cakes, salmon, ground beef pasta, Mac and cheese, bananas, avacado, oatmeal, yogurt, challah on Shabbos…

Anything that you eat really
Banana
Sliced cucumbers
Sliced tomatoes
Pasta
Yogurt
Sandwhich with pb, cream cheese
Soup
Cottage cheese
Avocado chunks
Scrambled eggs
Oatmeal

I like to send something that I know she likes.
So I try all the new foods and settle into a routine, say Monday peanut butter sandwhich and cucs. Tuesday cottage cheese and tomatoes, Wednesday yogurt and banana, Thursday hard boiled egg and rice cake.

Leftovers also work well. Sunday soup can be served room temp Monday. If you make pancakes, send 2 the next day.

Mashed sweet potato
Potato kugel
Pasta
Rice
Yogurt (Greek if she’ll take it)
Shredded cheese
Oatmeal with peanut butter or chocolate chips
Mashed fruit
Applesauce
Matzah balls
Any chunky soup
Fries
Cottage cheese
Pancakes

I’m a ftm too who just went thru this stage and these are all foods my daughter loved.

Quinoa
Salmon (be super careful with bones, I gave her the tail part), gefilta fish, tilapia

She should definitely be eating more food with texture not mashed food

Soft bread.
Noodles
sliced or shredded cheese
Egg omelette in strips
Oat muffins
Chewy oatmeal bars
Rice (messy)
Salmon
Fish sticks

Real food.

Mine likes

Meatballs
Schnitzel (cut into small pieces)
Potato kugel
Vegetable soup
Sweet potato fries
Butternut squash
Pizza
Yogurt
Cholent
Chickpeas (I smash them before giving so they're not perfectly round)
Toast with peanut butter
Salmon
Gefilte fish
Sushi lol
Oranges (I remove membranes so it's not a choking hazard)
Apples (slices cut very thin)
Broccoli

Basically almost anything an adult can eat.

Bread should be harder/ toasted otherwise it gets gooey and choky real quick.

My baby has what we eat. Some things I didn’t see mentioned are soft halves of pears (she can hold herself and chew on) great if constipated. Peas mashed a bit, big piece of meat or chicken to chew on.

At one (and before) she can eat whatever you’re eating, just serve in safe sizes. Check out solidstarts for the safe serving recommendation. Like if you wanna give her an egg just google “solid starts egg” and it’ll pop up how to serve it. How about yogurt? Avocado, cheese, sweet potato, zucchini, pasta, blueberries flattened, pieces of strawberry. salmon is great and healthy. roasted steamed vegetables like broccoli (to make it soft just bake covered for a while can add water to the pan to steam it. Spices olive oil etc). There are so many options. Shouldn’t rly be needing to eat jars at this point. Can also give some applesauce pouches.
